Served over 20 years on active duty. MSG Albert career included Infantryman, Aviation Operations, Operations NCOIC, Recruiter, Station Command, Company First Sergeant, and Division Chief. Prior to arriving to Hagerty High School he spent the past four years as the Army Instructor at Lyman High School. As Hagerty High School’s JROTC Army Instructor, he is focused on motivating and teaching the new JROTC cadets in the basic Principles of Leadership, Drill and Ceremony, Physical Fitness, and Team Work. One of MSG Albert’s major goals is to insure every cadet performs to the best of their ability in both JROTC and all of their academic courses. |
BC/ XO
BC (Battalion Commander)
The Battalion commander controls the staff through the battalion executive officer and the companies through the company commanders while maintaining the final approval authority in the cadet chain of command. The cadet must be able to show responsibility and apply common sense and judgement in the solving of problems. |
XO (Executive Officer)
The XO Supervises, Directs, And Coordinates the cadet battalion staff to prevent overlapping efforts and to ensure that the commander's desires are understood and achieved. The XO keeps the staff informed about the commander's policies and keeps the cadet battalion commander informed of the status of projects assigned to the staff. The XO assumes command of the cadet battalion in the absence of the cadet battalion commander. |
CSM/IG
CSM (Command Sergeant Major )
The CSM is the principal adviser to the Battalion Commander on planning, coordinating, and, supervising activities of the battalion. He oversees the training, performance, and execution of all drill and ceremonies conducted by the battalion. He also serves as a link between cadets and the battalion chain of command. |
Inspector General (IG)
The Inspector General serves as the "eyes, ears, and conscience" of the Battalion Commander ; conducts IG functions in support of Cadet Command responsibilities and operations; provides the Battalion Commander with the timely assessment of the discipline, training, morale, economy, efficiency, and operational readiness of the command. |
S-1
The battalion adjutant, also known as the S-1 is administrative assistant to the battalion Commander. The adjutant is also responsible for performing other administrative duties as assigned by the battalion commander, battalion executive officer, or the instructor's staff.
S-2
The battalion S-2 assists the battalion commander and the instructor staff in matters pertaining to unit security and enforces the provisions of the security requirements for the battalion.
The Battalion S-3 assists the battalion commander in the preparation, conduct, and supervision of all training activities of the cadet battalion. additionally, the S-3 keeps the commander adviser on the progress of of training within the battalion.
S-4
The Battalion logistics and supply officer is responsible for he maintenance, security, record keeping, issues, and turn-in of all U.S. government property (except ordnance). The S-4 coordinates the securing of property with the S-2.
S-5
This officer publicizes as many of the activities of the Army JROTC program as possible to create an outstanding image of the cadet battalion and to reinforce the image of the school.
S-6
This officer is responsible for enforcement of the cadet battalion's cyber awareness policies, synchronize with the S-5 in maintaining a robust and secure data capability in publishing, updating and tracking battalion information via internet.

Academic team
There are two academic teams. The first team is the "Leadership" team. This team competes to answer questions about leadership, JROTC knowledge, George C. Marshall, thinking maps, and more. The Second team is the "General Knowledge" team. This team answers math, science, language arts, and JROTC questions in the competitions. The competition format is timed questions for both teams. The teams practice together in the beginning but then split in October to be prepare for the national competition. Both teams help prepare the cadets for the SAT/ACT and teach them valuable team working skills.
Drill/Color Guard
The Captain is responsible to recruit members, assign roles, coordinate required uniforms and weapons with the S-4. Schedule drill practices, parades and events, and coordinate the Drill Team competition. This is facilitated through the chain of command staff.
Marksmanship
Marksmanship is a team building activity, in which cadets learn to shoot an Olympic-Style air rifle. This gives the cadets an environment to engage in friendly competition as well as learning discipline and patients. Cadets are also put on teams, with which they can compete in competitions against marksmanship teams from other schools. Practices are supervised by a range officer, and are conducted after school.
